Ten-thirty at night, stepping out of a bath house in Jiaoxi, legs loose, and the whole length of Deyang Road still lit. That is the most ordinary picture in Jiaoxi — and the densest run of massage shops in Yilan.
The question is which door.
Two kinds of shops
Tourist-belt foot massage. Concentrated on Jiaoxi’s hot-spring street. Open late, many storefronts, good odds of a free chair, priced for visitors. Most customers arrive straight from a soak and are done in an hour.
Neighbourhood wellness parlours. Spread through Luodong and Yilan City, living on repeat customers. Fair prices, ordinary hours, mostly shut by late night.
Working out which one you are matters more than comparing ratings.
Jiaoxi: density you pay for
The Jiaoxi massage list is almost absurd. 千歲月足體養生工坊 alone runs four Jiaoxi branches — Deyang, Deyang second, Park and Wenquan — meaning you pass a different outlet of the same brand every few doors.
The volume leader is 千歲月足體養生工坊 礁溪德陽店-cash only at 5,300-plus reviews. The two 素問足體工坊 shops on Ren’ai Rd and Jiankang Rd hold around three thousand each, and 湯圍溝按摩-礁溪足體按摩放鬆 經絡推拿 SPA 刮痧拔罐 on Jiaoxi Rd Sec. 5 sits right by the Tangweigou park foot baths.
Budget NT$600-900 an hour. That is more than Luodong, and what you buy is a shop open at eleven, three minutes from the bath house. Worth it on a tight itinerary; skippable otherwise. Hotel-attached options like 長榮鳳凰酒店(礁溪)-慢活spa occupy a higher band again, usually by reservation.
Luodong: Tianjin Road is the row
This district is where local pricing lives.
Tianjin Road is short, but 足滿足休閒足體 養生館, 步步輕鬆足體養生館, 捏手捏腳, 健康之道足體養生館 and 北之城足體概念養生館 all sit along it — one lap answers the comparison. 呂師父養生館 on Gongyuan Rd has 3,200-plus reviews and is the town’s signature; 武淵堂足體養身工廠 on Zhongshan Rd Sec. 3 adds another 1,500.
Night market, karaoke, then a chair before bed — that is simply how Luodong sequences an evening.
Yilan City: appointments and aroma work
Yilan City has a different character. 千歲月足體養生工坊 宜蘭神農路店 anchors it with 3,500-plus reviews, but the district leans toward appointment-only rooms like 療癒時光 Healing Space, HxH醒吧·預約制 and VIVISPA宜蘭縣政店 宜蘭按摩, clustered around Nyuzhong Rd.
If you want deep relaxation rather than a quick foot fix, choose here — and book early.
Check three things before the door
Cash, booking, and your own condition.
Some shops print cash only on the sign; others are literally named “please call first”. Neither is decoration. Weekend peak runs seven to ten, and a thirty-minute wait on a walk-in is routine. Straight out of the hot spring or a few drinks in — sit, drink water, give it ten minutes.
